To compete in the race, the athlete not only conditions his
body, but he must also strengthen his heart and mind to
finish it.
In sunshine or rain, he stays on course, training continues as
scheduled. He eats properly for energy and fitness. He
equips himself with the best possible sportswear and
accessories. Its all part of an established routine performed
under the careful supervision of his personal trainer. Months
of training, and sometimes years, will be dedicated for an
event that may only last but for a few moments. However, in
this race, there will only be one winner. Regardless of
sacrifice, it will be to the one who ran the fastest.
Our race to the finish line, is similar, yet very different.
Though we must have the same kind of dedication and
commitment to endure the challenges of our faith, we’re not
disqualified for progressing at a slower pace.
You don’t have to be the fastest,
nor have the latest bells and whistles,
in His race, you just have to finish.
