Words of Reconciliation in Christ Jesus.
#26 Back on the Potter's Wheel

There’s not just one reason why leaves fall from its branches,
there are several. It’s actually a variety of factors taking place
at the same time. Only after the leaves have fallen does it
become apparent that adverse conditions existed, but by then
the damage is done.
The adversities that war against our spirit are much like that
which weakens the stem of a leaf into falling away from the
tree, its source of life. The adversary’s goal is to disconnect
one’s spirit into falling away from Christ, knowing that without
Christ the spirit has no life. It can happen in a variety of ways
but here are the most common:
- Sin … But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his
own lust, and enticed. -- James 1 verse 14
- Spiritual Malnutrition … As newborn babes, desire the sincere
milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: -- 1 Peter 2 verse 2
- Poor Prayer Life … And he spake a parable unto them to this
end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
- Irregular Attendance or Lack of … Not forsaking the
assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but
exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day
approaching. -- Hebrews 10 verse 25
- Defiance … Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit
yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give
account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is
unprofitable for you. -- Hebrews 13 verse 17
- Unsuitable Associations … And he spake a parable unto them,
Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the
ditch? --Luke 6 verse 39
Thankfully, before Christ died, He had already planned for
situations such as this. Unlike the fate of the fallen leaf, we
can be lifted up, reattached and reconnected to Him again.
Through the Holy Spirit, life can be restored anew and our
spirit can yet live, flourish and thrive once again in Him.
Falling doesn't have to be the end of the story.
- The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it
more abundantly. -- John 10 verse 10
Scriptures to Reference:
- John 20 verse 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might
have life through his name.
- 2 Corinthians 5 verses 18-21
18. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself
by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19. To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto
himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath
committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did
beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye
reconciled to God.
21. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that
we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
