Listen to words of faith, hope and encouragement for everyday living.
|
Where do you go from here …
… and how do you get there? What will you need to do it?
Move over fear, courage has come. Face the disappointments
and difficulties responsibly and with patience. Experience the
moment truthfully, with all the great qualities of being the
human being God created. Don‘t deny yourself the right to
feel the healthy emotions caused by misfortune. It has a good
purpose. Dealt with honestly and given enough time to heal, it
will enhance your recovery.
An original with courage does not expect to stay disappointed,
so don't plan on it. Instead, look forward to overcoming the
challenges. Move anger out of the way, it will cloud your
judgment. Move bitterness, it will overshadow your smile.
Move wrath, it will weaken your progress. Move every self-
defeating action, including self-criticism, as it will impede your
ability to achieve, maintain, and enjoy the results of self-
improvement. In place of all of that, instill an investment of
time, knowledge and a positive outlook; inspired by your hope,
courage, simple faith and determination.
It’s a life-long plan nourished by God’s Word, and supported
by good emotional and spiritual health and personal well-
being. The extra stuff is just icing on the cake. Best of all you
can do it … one step at a time, one day at a time, and at your
own pace.
Key Point
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and
not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
-- Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
Note
The goal is the end result as promised by God’s Word. It is
what motivates to keep pressing through the struggles and
tiredness of spirit. The goal makes the wait bearable with a
determination to continue serving the Lord through the
process of time. A process that is not limited to restoration,
power, and courage to rise above the circumstances, but also
includes everything else needed to make the journey in
preparation of His return.
Little steps at a slow pace add up to measurable progress.
