I pray for them: I pray not for the world,
but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

-- John 17 verse 9
(Kings James Bible)

Prayer is vital part of a believer’s life.  As Jesus
demonstrates in His prayer, it has the power to change
and influence outcomes that would ordinarily be
disastrous.  Knowing and understanding the perils and
disappointments of life, He prayed about them for us in
advance of the cross.  Knowing that His Word would not
come back void and as He sent His Word out to heal
those present in His day, His Word would carry the same
power and influence into the future for our benefit too.

However, for us to realize those benefits, we too must
remain in His presence.  We must keep ourselves in the
love of God as written.  We have to remain in the proper
category of His prayer as we wait and serve with
confidence for His Word to manifest as spoken.

Today, His prayer remains in full effect that we do not
have to settle for a life with a predetermined worldly
    outcome.

May God’s Word affirm your spirit with hope each day.

For further study and inspiration:
  • Background notes:  The prayer of Jesus.
    Review John 17 verses 1-26.

  • His Word is powerful.
Isaiah 55 verse 11.  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of
my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish
that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I
    sent it.

Psalms 107 verse 20.  He sent his word, and healed them, and
    delivered them from their destructions.

  • For prayer to be most effective we have to continue with our
    responsibilities too.
    Jude 1 verses 20-21.
    20.  But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy
faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
    21.  Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of
our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

James 5 verse 16.  Confess your faults one to another, and pray
one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent
prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
